The Ohio State University Alumni Scholars Program (ASP) is intended to provide recognition
and financial assistance to outstanding incoming freshmen. The Ohio State University Alumni
Association coordinates the program, with the support of the Franklin County Alum Club, the offices of
Admissions and Financial Aid, and the Office of University Development.


The Franklin County Alum Club is offering one $5,000.00 Scholarship for the 2013-2014 school year.


The standards of selection for this award are:

The student must rank in the top 10% of the 2013 high school graduating class
The student must demonstrate involvement in school and community activities

The student must be admitted to any campus of The Ohio State University
The student must be a resident of Franklin County; or a graduate of a high school located

 in Franklin County, Ohio.


The student must submit a skillfully written application document.  Include personal and family information that impacts financial need and a description of commitment to education, work and service to the community.  Answer all of the questions on the application in a thoughtful manner. 


In addition to grades, level of classes, ACT, SAT scores, and class placement, the committee thoughtfully considers the answers to the “Your reason for wanting to attend The Ohio State University” question.  The quality of the responses to all questions on the application are important to the committee members.
